The Hauraki Team
The Hauraki District Council’s
Building team is located in the Council’s Planning and
Environmental Services Department. Our prime
responsibility is to ensure compliance with statutory
consents and legislative frameworks. A significant part
of the divisions work is ensuring compliance with the
Building Act 2004, the Health Act 1956 and the Local
Government Act 2002.
Some of our day to day duties
involve:
-
receiving and processing building
consent applications
-
evaluating consent applications
and issuing them when they meet legal requirements
-
undertaking building inspections
and to certify that structures meet the requirements
of the New Zealand Building Code
-
Council currently processes in
excess of 700 building consents per annum.
Our team is made up of five main
sections to ensure building consents are processed
properly and on time. All team members work together to
assist our customers with all building related
enquiries. |
