Applying for a Street Opening Permit
What is a Street Opening Permit for?
A street opening permit is required for any works that are being carried out on a Council road or road berm within our district.
Council consent and permit number is required before any such work can
commence.
How do I get consent?
Complete the attached
Street Opening Permit Application form
(14KB) or obtain one from
one of our Council Offices.
Allow 21 days for Council processing.
Fill in the particulars along with a sketch showing exactly where your proposed works will be in relation to road edge, property boundaries or any other distinguishable landmarks.
Once your application has been processed you will be advised of the Permit
Number and conditions that may apply.
A Traffic Management Plan is also to be submitted by the contractor doing the
works and must be compiled by a qualified STMS (Site Traffic Management
Supervisor). This must be received
and approved by the Hauraki District Council 48 hours prior to works commencing.
