ATTENTION: RESIDENTS and PAST RESIDENTS of the HAURAKI PLAINS

A Wall of Remembrance has been constructed on the reserve between the Ngatea War Memorial Hall and the Council office.
The Council recognises that there are technical difficulties with providing a public cemetery within the Plains Ward. The community had for some time requested a facility to acknowledge past residents of the Hauraki Plains within the area. This wall will provide an opportunity for those families wanting to display the name of their departed in a place that may be more convenient or accessible to ones who may like to visit.
The criteria for having the details of the deceased etched on a panel is that the deceased must have been a resident of the Hauraki Plains for at least six months.
“EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST” from past and present residents of the Plains who may like to include the surname, first name, middle initials, age at death, and year of death of their departed on a graphite rock panel, are welcome. This detail will be engraved on one line in a standard type font. That line will cost $50.00 (GST inclusive).  Please read the Application Information(14KB)
You can make an Inscription Application Request by one of the following methods:
  • printing off the Form(31KB) and mailing to Co-ordinator, Hauraki Plains Memorial Wall, Hauraki District Council, PO Box 17, PAEROA
