Proposed heavy vehicle parking restriction:
Ngatea urban area

Council is proposing to introduce a parking restriction. The proposal would affect overnight parking of heavy commercial vehicles, between the hours of 6:00pm to 6:00am, on all local roads within the 50km speed limit zone of the Ngatea urban area (except for Kohunui Street).

The proposed restriction would be put in place by amendment of Part 2: Public Transport - Schedule 10B(55KB)  of the Council’s consolidated bylaw.

The proposed restriction is aimed at:
  • preserving amenity, road safety and road structural integrity in the residential area of Ngatea.
  • preventing adverse effects on amenity due to the noise from late night and early morning operation of heavy vehicles parking overnight on local roads.
  • Preventing the potential safety hazard of obscured sight lines for property entranceways from parked heavy vehicles.

If you may be affected by this proposal and want your point of view considered, please complete the online submission form below or download a submission form(36KB) and return to Hauraki District Council offices by 4pm 4th August, 2009.

Council’s Roading Manager or District Engineer are available to discuss the content of this document during the submission period by telephoning Council on 07-862 8609 or 0800 734-834 (from within the Hauraki District)
