RECOMMENDATION
THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Hearings Committee held on 1 December 2005 be taken as read and confirmed.

4.1 Reports of the matters dealt with by way of delegation from the period 1st November 2005 are submitted separately for the Committee’s information.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the reports of delegated matters be received.

APPLICATION FOR "AL FRESCO" DINING – CRITERION HOTEL, PAEROA (66.003.605)

Attached is a report from the Monitoring Officer – Environmental Health regarding an application received from the proprietor of the Criterion Hotel, Paeroa who have applied for consent to place two small tables against the hotel building either side of the principal entrance.
A detailed report is attached.
A hearing has been scheduled for 9.15am.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the report be received
AND THAT the application for Al Fresco Dining on the footpath by Yvonne Chetham of Denjo Holdings Limited to allow for two(2) tables and associated chairs, be granted for a trial period, subject to the following conditions:
- That Consent be granted for a trial period till Easter 2006, and that the consent then be reviewed in accordance with a revised Roads and Road Traffic Bylaw.
- That the footpath area to be used for Al Fresco activities be clearly delineated to allow 2 metres clear space for public access.
- That the operation be under the strict control of the Duty manager.
- That the hours permitted be from 9.00am to 9.00pm.
- That the street furniture shall be to the approval of Council.
6.2 APPLICATION FOR "AL FRESCO" DINING STERLING TAVERN, WAIHI (60.003.605)
Attached is a report from the Monitoring Officer – Environmental Health regarding an application received from the proprietors of the Sterling Tavern, Waihi who have applied for consent to place up to five (5) tables on the pavement.
A detailed report is attached.
A hearing has been scheduled for 9.45am.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the report be received
AND THAT the application for Al Fresco Dining on the footpath by Alden Holdings Limited to allow for 5 tables and associated chairs, be granted for a trial period, subject to the following conditions:
- That Consent be granted for a trial period till Easter 2006, and that the consent then be reviewed in accordance with a revised Roads and Road Traffic Bylaw.
- That the footpath area to be used for Al Fresco activities be clearly delineated to allow 2 metres clear space for public access.
