5.1 COMMUNITY SERVICES MANAGER MONTHLY REPORT (01.012.022) 7-24

The Community Services Manager’s monthly report is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT Council amends the Skating Control Bylaw 2000 to extend the banned area within Paeroa to include the whole of Wharf Street, and that the impounding provisions be changed to revoke the existing second clause 6.4 (b) and replaces that clause with an amended clause 6.4 (c) to provide that "if the impounded device has been seized two or more times from that person, sixty (60) days after the day of impounding and a fine is imposed as set by Council in accordance with the provisions of this bylaw."

AND THAT Council takes the necessary steps to make a Special Order for the adoption of the Hauraki District Fires in the Open Air Bylaw 2002

The Corporate Services Manager’s report on the operations of the Corporate Services Department for the month of February 2002 and financial statements for the 7 months ended 31 January 2002 will be circulated prior to the meeting.

A payments listing for the month of January 2002 will be tabled at the meeting for members’ information.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report on the operations of the Corporate Services Department for February 2002 and the interim financial reports for the 7 months ended 31 January 2002 be received.

7 PLANNING & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

7.1 DELEGATED MATTERS (01.010.001) Separate

Reports of the matters dealt with by way of delegation from the period 1 February 2002 are attached separately for the Committee’s information.

THAT the reports of delegated matters be received.

7.2 PLANNING & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES REPORT (01.012.023) 25-32

The Planning and Environmental Services Manager has reported on the recent activities of the Planning and Environmental Services Department.

The report, which includes details on both the Consents and Monitoring Divisions, is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

8. GENERAL BUSINESS

8.1 ON SITE WASTEWATER DISPOSAL – HAURAKI PLAINS (80.005.000) 33-68

Attached is a report from the Planning & Environmental Services Manager regarding on site wastewater disposal on the Hauraki Plains.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

8.2 "BARRY ROAD SUBSIDENCE" (02.002.006) 69

Attached for the member’s information is a letter from Waihi Grey Power thanking Waihi Councillors and HDC Staff for the manner in which the Barry Road incident was managed.

8.3 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (01.012.025) 70-72

Attached is a report from the Economic Development Officer for the 3 months ended 31 December 2001.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

8.4 TOURISM COROMANDEL (06.502.006) 73-74

Attached is a report from the Economic Development Officer on Tourism Coromandel.

THAT the report be received.

8.5 SOCIAL SERVICES WAIKATO

Bev Gatenby, Chief Executive from Social Services Waikato and one trustee, will be attending the meeting at 2.00 pm.

8.6 LETTER OF APOLOGY (01.000.007) 75-76

Attached for the members information is a letter from Ruka Raharaha apologising to the Mayor and Councillors and Council Staff for the situation that occurred during a meeting held in the Mayors Office on the 19th February 2002.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the letter be received and the apology accepted.
