The Corporate Services Manager’s report on the operations of the Corporate Services Department for the 10 months ended 31 May 2004 and financial statements for the 10 months ended 31 May 2004 are attached for members’ consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report on the operations of the Corporate Services Department for the 10 months ended 31 May 2004 and the interim financial reports for the 10 months ended 31 May 2004 be received.

6.1 DELEGATED MATTERS (01.010.001) Separate

Reports of the matters dealt with by way of delegation from the period 1 May 2004 are attached separately for the Committee’s information.

THAT the reports of delegated matters be received.

 

6.2 PLANNING & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES REPORT (01.012.023) 14-18 (31KB)

The Planning and Environmental Services Manager has reported on the recent activities of the Planning and Environmental Services Department.

The report, which includes details on both the Consents and Monitoring Divisions, is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.1 DRAFT DOG POLICY 2004 (63.100.000) 19-36 (18KB)

Attached is a report from the Supervisor, Environmental Services regarding the Draft Dog Control Policy.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT the Draft Dog Control Policy (395KB), as amended, be released for public consultation under the Special Consultative Procedure.

7.2 ELECTED RMA DECISION MAKERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (89.000.999) 37-41 (16KB)

Attached is a report from the Acting Planning and Environmental Manager regarding the Elected RMA Decision Makers Professional Development education and training scheme.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT, following the October triennial elections, those members appointed to the Hearings Committee be registered to participate in the scheme.

7.3 ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS SURVEY (70.000.999) 42-48 (24KB)

Attached is a report from the Acting Planning and Environmental Services Manager regarding the Environmental Awareness Survey.

Attached is a report from the Acting Planning and Environmental Services Manager relating to Climate Change Partnership with Local Government NZ.

THAT the report be received

AND THAT the information be received and that Council be kept informed on the implementation of the Climate Change Partnership and the development of Local Climate Action Plans.

Attached is a report from the Supervisor, Resource Management Services regarding the 2004 Planning Conference held in Invercargill on 5-7 May 2004.

Attached is a report from the Community Liaison Officer regarding the Community Safety Initiative.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.7 ORAL HISTORY PROJECT PROGRESS (02.699.001) 66-69 (59KB)

Attached is a report from the Community Liaison Officer regarding the progress of the Oral History Project.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT Council purchases a recording device for the Oral History Project

AND THAT consideration be given for a grant to be made to the Historical Society of Hauraki Plains for the printing of the oral history as recorded by Ken Clover.

7.8 ENERGY SUPPLY TENDER REPORT (01.202.999) 70-72 (15KB)

Attached is a report form the District Engineer regarding the tender for energy supply by Genesis Power Limited.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT the tender of Genesis Power Limited be accepted

AND THAT the Chief Executive be authorised to sign the Energy Supply Agreement on behalf of the Council.

7.9 KOPU BRIDGE : AGREEMENT WITH TRANSIT NZ AND WITHDRAWAL OF APPEAL (41.100.003) 73-78(12KB)

Attached is a report from the District Engineer regarding the Kopu Bridge Settlement Agreement with Transit NZ and withdrawal of the appeal.

Attached is a report from Cllr Carmine on the Gambling and Problem Gambling Conference which she attended in Auckland on 13-14 May 2004.
