MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE WATER AND WASTES HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA AND SITE VISIT TO TETLEY’S QUARRY AND HIKUTAIA CUT ON TUESDAY 7 JUNE 2005 COMMENCING AT 9.45 A.M.

PRESENT

Cr S Baker (Chairperson), B A Gordon, D C Challis, B T Wightman, A G Gray, Ms A Anderson Ngati Hako), Mr D Welsh (Thames - Section Royal Forest & Bird Society, Mr R Corlett (Hauraki-Coromandel Federated Farmers) and His Worship the Mayor, J P Tregidga

IN ATTENDANCE

R Bond (Utilities Manager), Ms C Black (Council Secretary 9.45-10.00am at Council Office)

The Committee members and Councillors met in the Paeroa Office 9.45am. The Chairperson called for apologies to be received.

RESOLVED

THAT the apology of Crs K W Trembath, I D Troughton, T J Meyers, D C Lockwood and Mr B Clarkin and the apology of Mr R Corlett for lateness be received and sustained.

MEETING HELD TUESDAY 5 APRIL 2005

RESOLVED

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Consultative Committee Water and Wastes held on Tuesday 5 April 2005 be taken as read and confirmed.

REPORTS

UTILITIES MANAGER’S WATER SUPPLY REPORT 9; (15KB)

A report from the Utilities Manager was attached.

RESOLVED

THAT the report be received.

The meeting was adjourned at 9.55am.

The Committee and Councillors left the Paeroa Office at 10.00am to undertake a site visit to the Tetleys Quarry and Hikutaia Cut.

Mr Corlett met the group at the Hikutaia Cut site.

Cr Gray met the group at the Ngatea Office.

Discussion was held at both sites on the concept of water supply and of raw water storage.

The meeting was closed at the Ngatea Service Centre at 12.15pm.
