Cr Baker asked staff if they were aware of any information/directive from authorities regarding tank water – water supplies.

Loss of Water Supply – Tirohia

The Utilities Manager responded to a question regarding a recent loss of water supply in the Tirohia area. It was advised the incident arose from the need to connect an upgraded supply main into the system. The operation involved a planned interruption to the water supply, which had been programmed and notified to affected users. Problems were experienced with the pipe couplings leading to an extended delay in restoring the water supply. The work was carried out by Council’s Construction and Maintenance business unit. Staff on site arranged an interim supply of water but inconvenience was experienced by a number of users.
