Acknowledgement to Retiring Member - Keith Trembath
Cr Baker on behalf of the Committee thanked Cr Trembath for his positive input to the consultation process as one of the Council representatives on the Committee.
Resignation of Dean Burwell, Utilities Manager
Cr Baker on behalf of the Committee thanked Dean Burwell for his professional and proactive approach in his role as Utilities Manager and wished him and his family well in their future endeavours.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Whiritoa Ecoli Levels
The Utilities Manager advised that the Ecoli levels in the Whiritoa water supply are acceptable now.
Kerepehi Water Main
The Utilities Manager advised that tenders for the Kerepehi close on 7th November.
Mr Tewi Nicholls attended the meeting at 10.55am.

CARRIEDWater Supply
Hikutaia Supply
General discussion was held regarding the establishment of a Reservoir at Maratoto Road/Strange Road. Options for future supply are being investigated.
Plains Supply
To reduce the number of breaks in pipes, it has been decided to investigate dropping the water pressure levels of the Plains Supply over a 6 month period.
Kerepehi Water Treatment Plant Upgrade
Draft drawings are currently being produced for Council by our consultant for the construction of the new treatment plant. These are being reviewed within the next month.
Hikutaia Cut Raw Water Storage
Final prices are being obtained from NIWA for the turbidity sampling that is to be carried out at the cut, Pekapeka intake and the Puke bridge. These tests will assist in the decision to use the cut for storage and indicate the feasibility of installing a floating intake to improve raw water quality. Testing is also being carried out to determine the quality of raw water available from a site near the Puke bridge.
Wastewater
Paeroa Septage Receiving Facility
Final decisions are currently being made about the design of the receiving facility. An invitation has been received to visit the disposal centre at Morrinsville (Thursday 4 October) to see what design has been installed there.
Solid Waste
Customer Level of Service
Recycling at the Refuse Transfer Stations has been progressing well. Regular clearing of the recycling by National Waste has ensured recycling is never "dumped" into general waste.
Refuse Options Report
The final report has been submitted by Tonkin & Taylor to council and a recommendation report was produced to Council on the 27th September 2007
