NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A MEETING OF THE WORKS COMMITTEE WILL BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON THURSDAY 15 APRIL 2004 COMMENCING AT 10.00 A.M.

At 11.30am there will be a formal presentation of the LTCCP to Council by representatives from the Waikato Regional Council - Mr Harry Wilson, Chief Executive and Mr Neil Clarke, Chairman.

Pursuant to Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, the Chairman is to call for late items to be accepted. In the event of a late item, an explanation must be given as to why the item was not on the agenda and why discussion cannot be delayed for a subsequent meeting.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the Works Committee held on Thursday 11 March 2004 be taken as read and confirmed.

5. REPORTS

5.1 ROADING MANAGER’S REPORT (01.011.026)

The Roading Manager has reported on district roading matters for the Committee’s consideration. A copy of the report is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT the directional signage for the mine information centre and look out be installed at the intersection of Seddon / Moresby Rd with Transit NZ consent and funded by the Waihi Ward

AND THAT The Minor Safety Programme be varied to include the Baxter Road/SH2 Intersection improvements and defer the construction of the Hauraki Rd / Wharepoa Rd right turn bay.

AND THAT the installation of a bus shelter for school children be approved subject to the conditions detailed above being satisfied

AND THAT the installation of a pedestrian crossing outside the HDC office in Williams St Paeroa is not supported due to hazardous conflicting traffic movements.

AND THAT an agreement between Bargain Timber and HDC be approved to undertake the abovementioned work on the cost share basis described above.

 

5.2 DRAINAGE MANAGER’S REPORT (01.011.028)

The Drainage Manager has reported on drainage matters for the Committee’s consideration. The monthly report is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

AND THAT the piping of the reach of drain in No 88 Barry Road, Waihi, at an estimated cost of $5,200.00 on the basis of one quarter share being contributed by the owner, be approved.

 

5.3 WESTERN PLAINS DRAINAGE DISTRICT COMMITTEE (45.499.999)

Minutes of the Western Plains Drainage District Committee held on Wednesday 24 March 2004 are attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Western Plains Drainage District Committee held on Wednesday 24 March 2004 be received and the recommendations contained therein adopted.

5.5 UTILITIES MANAGER’S WATER SUPPLY REPORT (01.011.025)

The Utilities Manager has reported on district water supply matters for the Committee’s consideration.

Details are outlined in the attached report.

THAT the report be received.

5.6 UTILITIES MANAGER’S WASTEWATER AND REFUSE REPORT (01.011.025)

The Utilities Manager has reported on wastewater and refuse matters for the Committee’s consideration.

6. FINANCIAL REPORT (01.011.024)

The financial report on works and services activity accounts for the 8 months ended 31 March 2004 will be tabled at the meeting.
