NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A MEETING OF THE HAURAKI DISTRICT COUNCIL WILL BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON THURSDAY 12 APRIL 2007 COMMENCING AT 9.00 AM

6.1 ENVIRONMENT WAIKATO PEST MANAGEMENT PLAN REVIEW – SUBMISSION TO PROPOSED PLAN FOR 2007-2017 (64.100.999) (20KB)10-22

Attached is a report from the Community Services Manager regarding the Regional Councils’ pest management plan review.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT Council considers the matters raised and submits accordingly.

 

7. NETWORK SERVICES

7.1 ROADING MANAGER REPORT (01.001.029) (20KB) 23-28

The Roading Manager has reported on roading matters for the month of February 2007. The report is attached for the members’ information.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

Safety Management : Intersection Controls, Whiritoa

As a result of several complaints regarding vehicle "near misses" at the Kon Tiki / Swordfish Road and Kon Tiki Road / Stingray Crescent. Intersections an area review was commissioned to ascertain whether intersection controls were required the following was concluded:

In addition, it is also recommended that the sections of Kon Tiki Road that have a AADT of 250 VPD or greater have a painted centreline installed.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the regulatory controls described be approved for installation.

7.2 UTILITIES MANAGER’S REPORT (01.001.025) 29-43

The Utilities Manager has reported on district utilities for the month of February 2007. The report is attached for the members’ information.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.3 DRAINAGE MANAGERS REPORT (01.011.028) (20KB) 44-46

The Drainage Manager has reported on district drainage matters for the month of February 2007. The report is attached for the members’ information.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

8. GENERAL BUSINESS

8.1 WAIHI MUSEUM REVIEW (01.000.006) 47-51

Attached is a report to the Waihi Ward Committee from the Chief Executive regarding the operation of the Waihi Museum. Following consideration of the matter by the Ward Committee at its meeting of 10 April 2007, it is proposed that Council should ratify the decision regarding the independent review to be undertaken.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

9. LATE ITEMS

WORKSHOP : BYLAW REVIEW – INTRODUCTORY, PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAND TRANSPORT

Further to the initial report on bylaws, Councillors received at the mid February Council meeting, draft bylaws have been developed for the following Chapters of the Hauraki District Council Consolidated Bylaw.

The relevant documentation for this agenda item is either included as a separate item with this agenda, or was delivered to those Councillors in attendance at the Council meeting on 5th April 2007.

A workshop is to be held on these bylaws.
