Maintenance/Fencing/Culverts
The Drainage Manager advised that the end of year report on spraying and mechanical cleaning was not yet available.
No 10 Pump
The Drainage Manager and the Drainage Overseer had been in contact with Environment Waikato and reported back on discussions held with them regarding the number 10 pump on Ferry Road. The pump was under the control of Environment Waikato.
Due to changes since this pump was built the Committee needed to ensure that Environment Waikato investigated the operation of the pump to ensure it was working efficiently.

General
MI Western, Raratuna Street, Turua
A letter had been received from MI Western of Raratuna Street, Turua, concerning problems with the drain running the length of her property. The Drainage Manager had responded to the letter and advised that there were no immediate plans to pipe this drain but it would continue to be maintained.
Turua Domain
A letter had been received from the Turua Hall and Domain Committee regarding the fence erected by Council in front of the Turua Domain tennis courts. The Drainage Manager replied to the letter advising that following the continuing concerns of the Kindergarten representatives a netting fence had been constructed along the drain for safety reasons.
Drain C35
The Drainage Manager advised that there were two small lots on the north side of Huirau Road that were previously serviced by the Spencer/Madjwick drain. At some stage Council stopped maintaining this drain, and the properties have no outlet to a Council drain, or a drainage easement.
Members were in favour of reinstating the drain to the stopbank toe drain to provide an outlet.
RESOLVED
THAT drain C35 be reinstated as a Council drain.
EPDD02/40 Speedy/Hunter CARRIED

The financial report to 31 August 2002 was not available. The Drainage Manager advised that there had been no drain maintenance undertaken in the current financial year. The financial report to the end of 30 June 2002 was not yet available due to the assets being revalued and this could change the DiSP amounts.
