THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Eastern Plains Drainage District Committee held on Tuesday 28 June 2005 be taken as read and confirmed.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Netherton School
The Drainage Manager has met with the Principal and Chairman of the BoT of the Netherton School to discuss the problem with the access culvert from School Road.
A quote of approximately $4,000 was given to do remedial work on the culvert. The school wished to get an alternative quote. The Drainage Manager has been approached by the Principal to see if there is any provision for Council to make a grant to assist in the payment of this work. The committee agreed that the Drainage Manager advise the Principal to make an application to the Committee for funding assistance. The ownership and maintenance of the culvert will remain with the school.

The financial report for the 12 months ended 30 June 2005 was presented for members’ information.

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Eastern Plains Drainage Committee for the 12 months ended 30 June 2005 be received.

End of Financial Year Position
The Drainage Manager reported that for the financial year 2005/2006 the total operating expenditure was 86% of the budget. All drains and other assets are in good operating condition. There was a budget of $115,000 for capital works of which $106,000 has been spent.
The meeting closed at 11.20am.
