In the absence of the elected Chairman and Deputy Chairman, the meeting was required to appoint a Chairman.

THAT Mr GW Speedy be appointed Chairman of the meeting.

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Eastern Plains Drainage District Committee held on Wednesday 28 February 2007 be taken as read and confirmed.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

Access for Spraying in Properties with Crops Planted

It was advised that an article providing information on the issue of access for spraying drains on properties where crops are planted has been published in the Hauraki Herald. Follow-up articles will be published at strategic times in the future.

The monthly report from the Drainage Manager was presented for the Committee’s consideration.

THAT the report be received.

The financial report for the 9 months ended 31 March 2007 was presented for members’ information.

RESOLVED

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Eastern Plains Drainage Committee for the 9 months ended 31 March 2007 be received.

GENERAL BUSINESS

MEMBERS’ COMMENTS

The Members were invited to comment on any general drainage issues of interest in their areas.

Brent Conroy – Drain D46 – queried if drains has been sprayed bordering his property – Drainage Overseer advised they had been sprayed the previous week.

 

The meeting closed at 2.00pm.
