CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
MEETING HELD 30 NOVEMBER 1999/SPECIAL MEETING HELD 13 MARCH 2000
RESOLVED
THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Komata North Drainage District Committee held on 30 November 1999 AND the Special Meeting held 13 March 2000 be taken as read and confirmed.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
There were no matters arising.
The report from the Drainage Manager was attached for the Committee’s consideration.

Spraying
Tables of the drains sprayed in the 1999-2000 year were presented. Although the drains were sprayed twice (November and April) only one set of costs appear to have been charged.
Most of the drains had been sprayed once in December for the 2000-2001 year.
Mechanical Cleaning
The Drainage Manager advised that because of the two spray programmes in 1999-2000, no drains were mechanically cleaned. In 2000-2001 slips had been removed from K10 (Morrison’s Drain).
Pump Operation
A summary of pump hour’s operation for 1999-2000, and for the current year was presented.
The Drainage Manager advised that Environment Waikato were proceeding with the telemetry control for the 8V pumps (Alexander’s). Diesel power generation was underway for two stations (Mill Road and Stocks) and is programmed to be extended to Alexander’s and the other 8V pumps over the next 2-3 years.
General
Drainage Rate Review Working Party
The Drainage Manager advised that the Drainage Rate Review Working Party had held a preliminary meeting. A tour of all the drainage districts had been held in November 2000. The Committee was scheduled to meet again in a month.
D Sylvester, Morgan Road
An enquiry has been received from D Sylvester, Morgan Road, for the Komata North Drainage District to take over the maintenance of the drain north of and parallel to Rangiora Road, from the stopbank toe drain east to Morgan Road.
It was decided that the Drainage Manager and members would meet on site to further assess the situation.

THAT an on site meeting be held.

FINANCIAL REPORT
The financial reports for the financial year ended 30 June 2000 and for the 6 months to 31 December 2000 were attached for members’ information.
RESOLVED
THAT the financial report on the operations of the Komata North Drainage District Committee for the 12 months to 30 June 2000 and for the 6 months to 31 December 2000 be received.

2001/2002 ESTIMATES
The Committee was to consider the 2001/2002 estimates. A draft set of estimates were attached.
Pump Operations
There was concern that there should be an increase in the pump operations budget.
The Drainage Manager commented that this was continually reviewed each year.

THAT the 2001/2002 estimates for the Komata North Drainage District be accepted
