MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PAEROA RURAL DRAINAGE DISTRICT COMMITTEE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON WEDNESDAY 28 MARCH 2007 COMMENCING AT 1.30PM

The report from the Drainage Manager was presented for the Committee’s consideration.

RESOLVED

THAT the report be received.

Drainage Foreman

No appointment of a Drainage Foreman has been made.

Kuaoiti Stream upstream of Thorp Road

The matter was raised at the December meeting. There is a reach of 1,280m of the Kuaoiti Stream between Thorp Road and the golf course which does not appear to have been maintained to a satisfactory standard. There has been some private work done in the recent past.

The initial responsibility for works to be undertaken under the Waihou Valley Scheme (WVS) was for a distance of 7.4km (i.e. over 2.5km above the golf course).

Kevin Gillingham is taking over ownership of the land on 1st June 2007.

RESOLVED

That The Paeroa Rural Drainage District assumes responsibility for the maintenance of the Kuaoiti Stream channel for a distance of 1,280m from Thorp Road to the golf course boundary.

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Paeroa Rural Drainage District Committee for the 8 months ended 28 February 2007 be received.

Graham Morrison queried the opening balance of statement. The Drainage Manager is to investigate and report back to Mr Morrison.

 

GENERAL BUSINESS

District Tour

It was proposed that a drainage district tour be held in July 2007.

 

The meeting closed at 2.16pm.
