Appointment of Chairperson

Due to the absence of the Chairperson (Mike Peters) and Deputy Chairperson (Graeme Morrison), Kevin Gillingham was nominated to chair the meeting.

THAT Kevin Gillingham be appointed as Chairperson in the absence of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson.

DRAINAGE MANAGER’S REPORT (45.700.999)

The Drainage Manager’s report was presented for the Committee’s consideration.

Subdivisions

Subdivisions were commented on in the period were as follows:

R Robinson, Robinson Road, Komata

M F Ofsoske, Ryall Road, Paeroa

In both cases an easement was required to connect the severed lot to a Council drain.

Drainage Districts Tour 29 June 2007

The members did not consider there were any issues of significant concern to them following the drainage district tour in June.

Storm Events

The Drainage Manager reported on the 10 -11 July and 29 July - 3 August 2007 storm events. High pump running hours (1604hrs) to the end of August is 98% of the annual average total. The good condition of the pump feeder drains prior to the storm events resulted in low man and machine hours spent on weed screen maintenance.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT (45.700.999)

The financial report on the operations of the Paeroa Rural Drainage District Committee for the 12 months ended 30 June 2007 was presented.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Paeroa Rural Drainage District Committee for the 12 months ended 30 June 2007 be received.

GENERAL BUSINESS

The Drainage Manager advised that the District Drainage Committee Elections will be held in early 2008.
