Ngatea Urban Development - Paul Leonard Development
A general discussion was held regarding the options of piping the open Paul Leonard drain at the subdivision development.
Waitakaruru Stream Stopbank, Indian Floodgate, Left Bank
It was advised that works on the left bank from the previously completed section of the foreshore stopbank to approximately 100mm upstream of the Indian floodgate has been completed. Access to the Indian floodgate has been improved.
Direct access to the stopbank for maintenance purposes was discussed.
Machine Cleaning and General Maintenance Issues – District Tour
The Chairman, Drainage Overseer and Peter Paterson will inspect the Aitchison outlet with the adjoining owner to check the extent of re-growth of the trees on the drain bank.
The Kaihere roadside drain will be cleaned at the point where the adjacent race has encroached on the drain.
The provision for depreciation funding for the stopbanks on the Gubb’s Outlet is to be checked.
The conditions for grazing the Maukoro Canal reserve at Tako’s Outlet are to be confirmed. Local member Guy Speedy is to contact the adjacent landowner regarding the weed maintenance issues.

The financial report for the 9 months ended 31 March 2007 was presented for members’ information.

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Western Plains Drainage Committee for the 9 months ended 31 March 2007 be received.

GENERAL BUSINESS
The status of the leaking floodgate on Canal Road East by the Davis property is to be checked. Culvert locations and inverts of the roadside drain are to be surveyed.
The meeting closed at 12.07pm.
