RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Paeroa Ward Committee held on Monday 3 May 2004 be taken as read and confirmed.

5. COMMUNITY SERVICES

5.1 COMMUNITY FACILITIES MANAGERS MONTHLY REPORT (01.002.021) 5-7 (18KB)

The Community Facilities Managers monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Community Facilities Managers report be received

AND THAT the offer of a donation of three Kauri Trees, to be planted in the Paeroa Domain, from the Paeroa Cottage Garden Club be accepted, and that a letter be sent to the Club thanking them for their generosity.

5.2 REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (20.030.001) 8-9

The Paeroa Ward committee has been allocated $8000 for discretionary grants during this financial year. Grants totalling $5551 - $160 to Thames Valley Special Olympics, $1000 to Paeroa Community Support Trust, $200 to Paeroa Croquet Club, $750 to Paeroa Neighbours, $1000 to Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo Committee Inc., $216 to Paeroa Gentle Exercise group, a further $140 to Paeroa Croquet Club, another $85 to Thames Valley Special Olympics, and recently $2000 to the Skate and Leisure Centre and $1500 to the Paeroa Promotions Trust, – have been made leaving a balance of $949.00.

Paeroa Simply Red Marching Team

A request has been received from the Secretary/Coach for assistance with the cost of running the 5th Biennial leisure marchers event being held on the Paeroa Domain on Saturday 13 November. They were granted $500.00 in 2003.

They also take the opportunity to invite committee members to this event.

Upright & Active Class Julie Stephenson Sport Waikato

An email has been received from the Hauraki District Sport Co-ordinator requesting dispensation for hall costs for a weekly Upright and Active class. The classes would run every Wednesday, except in the school holidays from 10:00am to 11:00am, for 25 weeks (to 15 December) in the Memorial Hall. The not-for-profit hourly rate for hiring the hall is $6.00 giving a total of $150.00 for the 25 weeks.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the requests be received

AND that consideration be given to these requests.

 

6. CORPORATE SERVICES

The financial report for the 9 months ended 30 April 2004 is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Paeroa Ward Committee for the 9 months ended 30 April 2004 be received.

7. ENGINEERING SERVICES

7.1 ROADING: MONTHLY REPORT (01.001.029) 13-21 (8KB)

The Roading Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.2 UTILITIES MANAGER’S MONTHLY WATER SUPPLY REPORT (01.001.028) 22-24(30KB)

The Utilities Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.3 UTILITIES MANAGER’S MONTHLY WASTEWATER AND REFUSE REPORT (01.011.025) 25-31  (26KB)

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT the present Stripped Car Body Disposal voucher system be abandoned as of the 1st July 2004

AND THAT the current charge for Stripped Car Body Disposal at the Waihi and Paeroa RTS sites be reduced to zero, with stripped Car Body Disposal priced at $25.00 each as from 1st July 2004

AND THAT clean tyres (off rims) be accepted at the Waihi and Paeroa RTS sites from 1st July 2004 at a charge of:

Car tyres $3.00 each

4WD tyres $4.00 each

Truck tyres $8.00 each

Tractor tyres $21.00 each
