NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A MEETING OF THE PAEROA WARD COMMITTEE WILL BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON TUESDAY 10 APRIL 2007 COMMENCING AT 12.30PM

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Paeroa Ward Committee held on Tuesday 13 March 2007 be taken as read and confirmed.

The Community Services monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.

REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE [20.030.001]

The Paeroa Ward Committee has been allocated $8000 for discretionary grants during this financial year. The Committee has allocated $500 to SeniorNet, $30.00 to Hauraki Maori Basketball Association, $310.50 to Miller Avenue School, $1000 to the Paeroa Pipe Bands, $200 to the Paeroa Basketball Assn., $200 to the RSA’s Year of the Veteran project, $100 to EchoFest, $500 to Plunket, and $1733.33 plus $1500 to the Paeroa & District Museum and Historical Society leaving a balance of $1,926.17.

HAURAKI TIGERS RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB [IM273325]

A request from the club coach/secretary for assistance with costs for using Centennial Park field, lights and showers has been received. The applicant advises that the cost for use of these resources is $50 per night, two nights a week and seeks up to $500 to cover the cost.

PAEROA L&P BMX CLUB [IM273031]

A request from the President of the club for assistance with funding of materials needed to build a fence across their car park area has been received. The cost of material has been quoted at $981.64.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT consideration be given to these requests.

6.1 REQUEST FOR MOTORIST SERVICE SIGN (01.001.029) 19-21

Attached is a report from the Roading Manager regarding a request received from the Paeroa Recreational Vehicle Centre for the installation of a directional fingerboard sign.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT sign installation be approved subject to the aforementioned conditions.
