DOMAIN : DRAINAGE

The mowing contractor has suggested the No. 1 rugby field in the Domain should be mown with a catcher as the grass decomposes and creates soil that will not allow water to drain through to the pipes as is the case with sand. Staff are therefore investigating the option of having one of Council mowers fitted with a catcher to remove the cut grass and will seek what the extra costs will be over and above our normal mowing regime.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT subject to a reasonable price being received to remove the grass, the field will be mown with a catcher to preserve the integrity of the field.

KENNEDY STREET TREE - DAMAGE RECEIVED TO VEHICLE

There has been a request received from the land owners of a property in Kennedy Street who have advised that their car was damaged by a Council tree falling on their vehicle and house during the recent storm event. They seek costs from Council to cover their car insurance excess of $100 but are not seeking recompense towards the damage to their house. A copy of the account is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT Council pay the property owners concerned their vehicle insurance excess of $100.

DOMAIN TOILETS

Staff have proposed to line the ladies toilets with the same product as was used to line the men’s and disabled toilets. The cost to line the ladies toilets will be approx $1,000.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the ladies toilets be lined with the Hippolon product at an approx. cost of $1,000.
