NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A MEETING OF THE PAEROA WARD COMMITTEE WILL BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON TUESDAY 12 AUGUST 2008 COMMENCING AT 12.30PM

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Paeroa Ward Committee held on Tuesday 15 July 2008 be taken as read and confirmed.

5.1 COMMUNITY SERVICES MONTHLY REPORT (419555) (36KB) 4-8

The Community Services monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.

REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Paeroa Ward Committee has been allocated $8000 for discretionary grants during this 2008/09 financial year. Grants have been made to Paeroa & District Museum and Historic Society ($1734), leaving a balance of $6,266.00.

CHANTELLE WINDLEBURN [422846]

Chantelle is a Year 11 student at Paeroa College and also a member of the Kapa Haka Roopu that represented Hauraki at the Cultural Festival in Jiading last year.

Chantelle advises that she has been given an opportunity to go on the "Spirit of Adventure".

The cost for such an opportunity is $1125 and Chantelle writes asking that Council consider sponsoring her with this quest.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the consideration be given to this request.
