Vandalism – Public Toilets

The surveillance cameras have not been installed.

Memorial Hall – Roof

The Community Liaison Officer is still waiting on quotes for the painting of the three lower sections of the hall roof.

The Community Services monthly report on activities was presented for the Committee’s consideration.

REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (20.030.001)

Special Olympics Thames Valley (IM282092)

A request from the co-ordinator for support to keep costs for their regional indoor bowling day to a minimum has been received. The applicant advises that they will be holding the annual event in the Paeroa War Memorial Hall on the 28 July 2007 starting at 10:00am. The event caters for approximately 60 intellectually disabled athletes. Councillors are invited to attend.

Cost for use of the hall is $135.00.

RESOLVED

THAT a contribution of $100.00 from the Plains Ward Discretionary Fund be given towards the cost of holding this event.

Capital Projects Summary – Memorial Hall – Repaint Exterior

The most acceptable quote received to paint the exterior of the Plains Memorial Hall is $8,400.

Ngatea Domain - Multi-Use Building Proposal

The Committee agreed that the Ward Committee representative attend the Domain Users Group meeting to be held 19^th July 2007 to provide the Wards support in principle to the idea of a multi-use building.

NGATEA HALL AND DOMAIN MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (02.103.999)

Minutes of the Ngatea Hall and Domain Management Committee meeting held on Thursday 21 June 2007 were presented for the information of the Committee.

RESOLVED

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Ngatea Hall and Domain Management Committee held on Thursday 21 June 2007 be received and the recommendations contained therein, adopted.

A report from the Roading Manager regarding a number of roading matters was presented.

Benner Drive

The Roading Manager reported that a schedule of work for Benner Drive footpaths is being compiled.

ROAD NAMING - KEREPEHI INDUSTRIAL SUBDIVISION (40.00.051) (116KB)

A report regarding the naming of a road in the Kerepehi Industrial subdivision was presented by the Corporate Services Manager.

RESOLVED

THAT the naming of the section of road created in the Kerepehi Industrial subdivision off Town Road, Kerepehi as Reta Crescent be approved.
