THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Plains Ward Committee held on Tuesday 11 September 2007 be taken as read and confirmed.

REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (20.030.001)

The Plains Ward Committee has been allocated $3,000 for discretionary grants during this financial year. The committee has allocated $100 to TVSO leaving a balance of $2,900.

TURUA DAYCARE INC. [IM290118]

A request from the Vice President for assistance with consent costs for the expansion of their facilities at Turua has been received. The applicant advises that they plan to extend the time of operation and to allow extra children to attend the new facility.

Minimal cost for the consent application is $745.00

RECOMMENDATION

THAT consideration be given to this request.

NGATEA DOMAIN

A request has been received from the Ngatea Soccer Club that the Ward Committee consider installing better drainage under the field. A letter is attached requesting a solution to their ongoing problem.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT consideration be given to installing better drainage under the soccer field.

NGATEA MAIN STREET TREES

The request considered at the September Ward Committee meeting to change the species of trees to be planted in the main street of Ngatea was accepted. As staff have already planted the Melia trees it is considered that these trees remain and that Box Elders be planted in future in the Main Street.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Melia trees that have been planted are not replaced

AND THAT any future trees that need to be replaced in the main street are replaced with Box Elders.
