6.2 ROADING REPORT - JULY 2008 (CR MEYERS) (418527) 9-10

Waitakaruru Drainage Improvements

Transit has carried out a site survey and has submitted draft plans for comment. The work shown is 282m of new Kerb and Channel which ends at Duffin Road. This work does not include the footpath. Further to a discussion held between the District Engineer and Mr Ron Laing, it was been concluded that no information could be produced that would motivate Transit that they have an obligation to contribute to the footpath costs associated with this project.

It is recommended that the kerb and channel construction be funded by Transit and the associated footpath and entrance way work be funded from Plains Ward Funding. The detailed costs will be reported when the final plans are completed.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received

AND THAT the Footpath and Entrance way improvement works associated with this project be funded from Plains Ward Funding.
