RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Waihi Ward Committee held on Monday 1 September 2003 be taken as read and confirmed.

5. COMMUNITY SERVICES

5.1 COMMUNITY FACILITIES MANAGERS MONTHLY REPORT (01.002.021) 6-25

The Community Facilities Managers monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Community Facilities Managers report be received

AND THAT the Waihi Ward Committee, in line with Option C above, make a grant of $300.00 to the Whiritoa Croquet Group to assist them with mowing the Whiritoa Croquet Green

Attached is a letter of appreciation regarding the Waihi Cemetery from Mr & Mrs A Weal

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the correspondence be received.

5.2 REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS ATTENDING COMMUNITY MEETINGS

Committee members reported on community meetings that they had attended.

5.3 REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (20.030.002) 26-27

The Waihi Ward committee was allocated $4000 for discretionary grants for this financial year. Grants totalling $930.00 were made at the August and September Ward committee meetings, leaving a balance of $3070.00.

A letter has been received from the Waihi Police Youth Aid Constable advising of a "Blue Light" disco being run by the Police in conjunction with the Waihi Junior Netball Association fund raising in the Waihi Memorial Hall on Friday 19 September 2003. They request waiving of the $75 hall hire fee.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the request be received

AND that consideration be given to this request.

6.1 FINANCIAL REPORT (01.001.025)

There is no financial report

 

7. ENGINEERING SERVICES

7.1 ROADING: MONTHLY REPORT (01.001.029) 28-36

The Roading Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

AND THAT the Minor Safety Projects detailed in 11.1 above be approved subject to the estimates not exceeding the Transfund approved allocation.

AND THAT the proposed Footpath Capital work programme for Waihi as shown in item 16.1 of this report be approved

AND THAT the proposed Footpath Capital work programme for Paeroa as shown in item 16.2 of this report be approved

7.2 UTILITIES: MONTHLY REPORT (01.001.028) 37-39

The Utilities Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.3 DRAINAGE: MONTHLY REPORT (01.001.020) 40-41

The Drainage Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.
