RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Waihi Ward Committee held on Monday 3 May 2004 be taken as read and confirmed.

5. COMMUNITY SERVICES

5.1 COMMUNITY FACILITIES MANAGERS MONTHLY REPORT (01.002.021) 7-23 (27KB)

The Community Facilities Managers monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Community Facilities Managers report be received.

AND THAT the Committee give consideration to the request from Newmont Mine for the provision and installation of a rubbish bin in the carpark outside the Mine Education Centre, Moresby Ave, Waihi.

AND THAT the correspondence be received, and that the Committee grant remission of Clause C of the Agreement with the Whiritoa Tennis Club for the year commencing 1 April 2004 – 31 March 2005.

AND THAT the amended Design Report for Gilmour Reserve, as attached, be received and adopted, and that detailed design drawings and cost estimates for the development of Gilmour Reserve be prepared.

5.2 REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (20.030.002) 24

The Waihi Ward committee was allocated $4000 for discretionary grants for this financial year. Grants totalling $1645.55 were made at the August ~ November Ward committee meetings, leaving a balance of $2354.45.

A letter has been received from the Secretary of Senior Net Waihi asking for a grant to help them provide a service to senior citizens.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the request be received

AND that consideration be given to this request.

 

5.3 REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS ATTENDING COMMUNITY MEETINGS

Committee members reported on community meetings that they had attended.

6. CORPORATE SERVICES

6.1 FINANCIAL REPORT (01.001.025) 25-27

The financial report for the 9 months ended 30 April 2004 is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the financial report on the operations of the Waihi Ward Committee for the 9 months ended 30 April 2004 received.

7. ENGINEERING SERVICES

7.1 ROADING: MONTHLY REPORT (01.001.029) 28-36 (8KB)

The Roading Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.2 UTILITIES MANAGER’S MONTHLY WATER SUPPLY REPORT (01.001.028) 37-39(30KB)

The Utilities Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

7.3 UTILITIES MANAGER’S MONTHLY WASTEWATER AND REFUSE REPORT (01.011.025) 40-46  (26KB)

 

The Utilities Manager’s monthly report to the Works Committee is attached.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

AND THAT the present Stripped Car Body Disposal voucher system be abandoned as of the 1st July 2004

AND THAT the current charge for Stripped Car Body Disposal at the Waihi and Paeroa RTS sites be reduced to zero, with stripped Car Body Disposal priced at $25.00 each as from 1st July 2004

AND THAT clean tyres (off rims) be accepted at the Waihi and Paeroa RTS sites from 1st July 2004 at a charge of:

Car tyres $3.00 each

4WD tyres $4.00 each

Truck tyres $8.00 each

Tractor tyres $21.00 each
