The item was not on the agenda because the item was unavailable at the time of the agenda deadline.
Discussion on the item could not be delayed because the matter needed a confirmed decision from the Committee as soon as practicable.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Purchase of Painted Panels
It was advised that the painted panels are presently being stored in the Waihi Office. It was suggested that the location for their permanent storage be discussed at a later date. In the interim, it was agreed that they be displayed in the foyer of the Waihi Memorial Hall.

THAT in the interim, the paintings be placed on display in the foyer of the Waihi Memorial Hall.

REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE [20.030.002]
Waihi Golf Club – Centenary Celebrations
A request for financial assistance has been received from the Waihi Golf Club Centenary Sub Committee seeking assistance towards their centenary celebrations to be held over Labour Weekend of this year. They request the waiver of the hall hire fee of $150.00 in which they intend to hold their dinner/dance function. After discussion, it was considered that as this is a one-off request from a Sub Committee of the Club, it was agreed that the request be approved.
RESOLVED
THAT $150.00 be granted to the Golf Club Centenary Sub Committee to be put towards the cost of their centenary celebrations.

Go Waihi – Oresome Wearable Arts Show
A request for financial assistance has been received from Go Waihi seeking $1,000 towards the Oresome Wearable Arts Show. Cr Wightman advised that this funding is to cover hall hire costs only and informed the members that the funding for this event is well supported by the retail community of Waihi.
After discussion on the request, the Mayor stated that this is a high profile event in the district and suggested that the group receive the assistance of $1,000 subject to review of their financial details. It was therefore agreed that the financial statements of the group be requested in the interim and that a final decision on the request be deferred until the August meeting of the Ward.
RESOLVED
THAT the item be deferred until the August meeting to allow the Committee to receive and review the financial statements of the Oresome Wearable Arts group.

Gilmour Reserve Development
The Community Services Manager outlined the process to be considered for the dredging process as part of Stage 2 of the development at the Gilmour Reserve. The members requested that more information be made available to explain how the lake is to be dredged. The Community Services Manager advised he will liaise with the contractor’s regarding Stage 2 of the development and will report back with more detailed information on the dredging to the Ward at the August meeting.
Whiritoa : Proposed Boardwalk Ramarama Stream Esplanade Reserve
The Community Services Manager advised the members of a request received from the Whiritoa Community Liaison Committee Inc. seeking the Ward’s support towards the construction of a boardwalk along the Ramarama Reserve Stream at Whiritoa.
After discussion on the request, the members commented that this proposal is favourable but needs to go through the public consultation process as a ‘possible’ project. It was therefore agreed that the Ward Committee consider the project for inclusion in the next LTCCP as a possible project for future consideration.
LATE ITEM
Waikino School and District 100 Years Celebration
Cr Baker tabled a letter received from the Secretary of the Waikino Reunion Committee seeking financial assistance to cover consent fees for the placement of temporary signage on SH2 advertising their school and district centenary. After discussion, it was agreed that funding be provided up to $500.00.
The Chief Executive advised he will confirm the cost of consent fees to the August meeting of the Ward.
RESOLVED
THAT the Committee approve to cover the cost of consent fees for the temporary signage up to a value of $500.00.
