NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A MEETING OF THE WAIHI WARD COMMITTEE WILL BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON TUESDAY 12 JUNE 2007 COMMENCING AT 2.30 PM

Pursuant to Section 46A(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, the Chairman is to call for late items to be accepted.
In the event of a late item, an explanation must be given as to why the item was not on the agenda and why discussion cannot be delayed for a subsequent meeting.

RECOMMENDATION
THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Waihi Ward Committee held on Tuesday 15 May 2007 be taken as read and confirmed.

The Community Services monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.
REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE [20.030.002]
The Waihi Ward Committee has been allocated $7000 for discretionary grants during this financial year. The Committee has allocated $150 to Waihi Golf Club, $1000.00 to Oresome Wearable Arts, $500 to the Waikino School Reunion, $785.00 to Waihi Summer Festival, $36 for Community Christmas Carol Celebration, $52.50 to the Woodlands Floriste, $150 for Children’s Day, $350 for the Chilton mural, $500 to the Salvation Army, $100 for the Echo Walking Festival, $235 + $220 to Creative Waihi, $225 to the Rotary Club Waihi leaving a balance of $2,696.50.

A request from the coordinator for assistance with purchase of trees to be planted by the Scout Hall in Baker Street has been received.
The group is organising another planting project for the coming planting season similar to the successful plant last year. This project will clean up the paddock adjacent to the scout hall..
The cost of the trees is $500.00.
The group also seek permission to erect a walkway post at the corner of Gilmour Reserve for the beginning of the Riverbank Terrace walkway.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT consideration be given to these requests.
5.2 REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS ATTENDING COMMUNITY MEETINGS
Committee members report on community meetings they have attended.
6.1 WAIHI ARTS CENTRE AND MUSEUM ASSOCIATION FUNDING REQUEST (01.000.020)

A report is attached from the Chief Executive regarding the funding request from the Waihi Arts Centre and Museum Association.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the report be received
AND THAT the Council approve a grant of $4,000 to the Waihi Arts Centre and Museum Association to cover operating costs of the Waihi Museum subject to an approved annual budget being presented to the Chief Executive.

Attached is a report from the Roading Manager regarding roading matters for the consideration of the Ward Committee.

THAT the report be received.
Waihi Ward – Intercity Bus Stop
RECOMMENDATION
THAT Option 1 be discussed with Intercity, and if acceptable
THAT the road marking and signage be implemented accommodate the new bus stop.
