RECOMMENDATION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Waihi Ward Committee held on Tuesday 11 December 2007 be taken as read and confirmed.

The Community Services monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.

5.2 SEDDON STREET TREES

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the subject trees be removed and replaced by either an oak or another species other than Casurina

AND THAT bollards be considered as an option of protecting the trees to prevent damage from parking vehicles.

6. GENERAL BUSINESS

6.1 WAIHI ARTS CENTRE AND MUSEUM REQUEST FOR FUNDING (CR S BAKER, COUNCIL APPOINTEE AND CR J THORP HERITAGE AND ARTS PORTFOLIO HOLDER) (387259) (138KB)  15-51

Attached is a report from the Chief Executive regarding the request of funding to maintain the operation of the Waihi Arts Centre and Museum. Also attached is the Museum Consultants independent report on the operation of the Arts Centre and Museum.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received.

6.2 CONSIDERATION OF ESTIMATES FOR THE 2008/09 ANNUAL PLAN (37KB)

The draft estimates for the operation and maintenance of the Ward Facilities and initiatives will be circulated separately for the member’s consideration.

Following discussion on the items it is expected that the Ward Committee will recommend to Council the adoption of the estimates either as they have been presented or subsequently amended.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the Waihi Ward Committee adopts the estimates as presented or amended for the Waihi Ward for the 2008/09 Annual Plan.
