The Community Services monthly report on activities is attached for the Committee’s consideration.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.
REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Waihi Ward Committee has been allocated $7000 for discretionary grants during this financial year. To date the Committee has allocated $500 to Whiritoa Surf Life Saving Club, $100 to Thames Valley Special Olympics, $795.00 to Waihi Summer Festival, $200 to Waihi Community Resource Centre, $300 to Bill Doyle, $160 to Creative Waihi, $105 to Bosom Buddies, $55 to Waihi Rotary, $75 to Waihi Ministers Association $295 to Creative Waihi, $250 for EchoFest and a further $500 to the Salvation Army leaving a balance of $3,665.00.

RECOMMENDATION
THAT consideration be given to this request.

Attached is a report from the Community Services Manager regarding a request from the Waihi Community Marae for permission to use a piece of lnd bordering Quarry Road, Waihi to establish a plant nursery.
RECOMMENDATION
THAT the report be received
AND THAT the Ward Committee supports the proposal in principle and seeks Council’s like approval, and requests staff to work with the Marae Committee to develop the project for final consideration by Council.
