Draft Development Contributions Policy Review
Hauraki District Council Draft Development Contributions
Policy 2012-22
The Local Government Act 2002 requires that Councils must review their
Development Contributions policy every three years. Council’s current policy was
adopted in 2009 and is currently being reviewed by the Council. In particular,
the Council must update its actual capital works expenditure over the last 10
years and its planned capital works for the next 10 years and include relevant
expenditure relating to growth and capacity from these figures into the
financial model for contributions.
On 27 July 2011, the Council resolved to proceed with the review of its
Development Contributions Policy. The review has been underway since then. At
its meeting 25 January the Council considered the new, draft policy based on the
review of expenditure and matters arising from the implementation of the
previous policy. At the meeting the Council resolved to proceed with a
pre-consultation process with the development community and other interested
parties prior to formal notification of the draft policy taking place in March
2012.
The relevant documents are attached for information and feedback.
