After notification of the Proposed District Plan on 24 August 2010 it was found that there were issues with Significant Natural Area (SNA) reference numbers on the Planning Maps.

The SNAs have remained the same in the Variation, as those shown in the Proposed Plan.

The significance ranking and rules applying are also unchanged.

Proposed Variation No. 1 is essentially an administrative tidy up with the following features:

  • Changing the SNA reference number on the Planning maps back to what was shown on the Draft District Plan maps to reference the whole of each individual SNA;

  • Those SNAs that were omitted or were only partially shown on the Proposed District Plan planning maps are now correctly shown on the Proposed Variation planning maps;

  • The Schedule of SNA features in Section 6.2.6 has been updated to reflect the altered reference numbers on the maps and amend the schedule columns.
