ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

Hauraki District Council has developed an  Economic Development Strategy to guide Council’s initiatives and activities in this area.  

 Council wants to: 

¨      Provide leadership in stimulating economic growth and development in the District;

¨      Focus effort on the long-term needs of the District’s economy and ensure short-term objectives are met;

¨      Provide a culture which fosters the creation and maintenance of employment;

¨      While focusing on economic development, ensure that social and environmental well-being is safeguarded;

¨      Encourage further development of District attractions.

The Strategy sets out several objectives and actions to achieve Council’s desire for sustainable economic development.
