ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
Hauraki District Council has developed its second generation Economic
Development Strategy to guide Council’s initiatives and activities in this area.
The strategy was adopted through Council resolution on 25th November 2009.
Councils’ vision through this strategy is for a District that encourages
vibrant communities, provides a great lifestyle and fosters a positive climate
for balanced, sustainable development.
For Hauraki District Council, economic development is about improving the overall quality of life through increased economic growth and job creation. Economic development may have the following outcomes:
The Strategy sets out several Goals and actions to achieve Council’s desire
for sustainable economic development.
