Week 2 begins Monday 21 August 2017

16/06/2017 8:00am

We’ve recently made some changes to the frequency of rates payments.

From August, you’ll receive a rates invoice from us four times a year, instead of three times a year.

Rates instalments will now be due in August, November, February and May, but the amount of each instalment will be less because the total is being spread over four payments instead of three.

Rates instalment dates (excluding water rates) for the 2017/2018 rating year (1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018):

Instalment Due Date Last date before penalty incurs
One 20 August 2017 30 August 2017
Two 20 November 2017 29 November 2017
Three  20 February 2018 28 February 2018
Four 20 May 2018 30 May 2018

The changes won’t affect you if you pay by direct debit or automatic payment.

Rates Rebates

If you're on a low income you may qualify for a rates rebate. To determine if you are eligible for a rates rebate please see the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs website.

The last day to apply for a 2016/17 rates rebate is 30 June 2017.

Make payments easier with Direct Debit

Many of our customers say paying by direct debit is the most convenient option because they’re always up to date and never get charged any late payment fees.

Contact our friendly customer service staff to discuss which payment option is best for you.
