Oh what a night!
The first ever Hauraki-Coromandel Business Awards gala evening at Grand Mecure Puka Park Resort was full of glitz, glamour, and of course some of our best business stars.
Hauraki winners on the night included Pohutukawa Frame and Truss Ltd, Stink Brothers Ltd, Paeroa Community Support Trust, and Agrisea NZ Ltd, who are all based here in Hauraki.
Special congratulations to Agrisea who topped two categories, and took out the Supreme Award for best business overall.
Our Mayor John Tregidga said nobody just wakes up one morning to find themselves at the helm of a successful business.
“You’re not here by accident. You’re here because you have the tenacity, vision and innovation required to build a successful business and to grow that business in today’s challenging environment. You’re here because you’ve put one foot in front of the other and taken all the little steps required to climb that mountain and run that marathon. Because you understand business really is a marathon, not a sprint.”
He thanked entrants, and sponsors for being in business. For creating opportunities, supporting families, and providing innovative solutions to the problems and challenges faced today.
“These awards, this evening, is a small way we can celebrate this. A small way we can acknowledge the enormous contribution you all make. Keep doing what you’re doing,” he said.

The Hauraki and Thames-Coromandel district mayors, John Tregidga and Sandra Goudie, are very excited about the awards and they see this as a great oportunity for both districts to work together.
