Nominations are now open for the Hauraki District Council 2018 Citizens and Young Achievers Awards.
Going the extra mile
Mayor John Tregidga says each year the Council recognises people that go the extra mile to make our communities, the District, and the world, a better place.
“There are so many unsung heroes in our communities and we want to sing their praises,” he says. “These people dedicate their time to doing things for others and these awards are an opportunity for us to acknowledge and thank them.”
The Citizens Award celebrates and recognises the extraordinary achievements of people, who through their outstanding dedication and community spirit, have made a positive difference in our communities.
Young Achievers Award
The Young Achievers Award celebrates all the wonderful things our young people, between the ages of 13 and 25, are achieving for themselves and for the community.
“Young people are our future and the future of Hauraki is bright,” says Mayor Tregidga. “Inspiring leaders, caring and compassionate teens, outstanding sportspeople, those driving positive change – we want to hear about them all. We know they won’t put themselves forward, so we need you to nominate the people you know who are achieving great things, no matter how big or how small.”
