CELEBRATION OF 20 YEARS OF THE HAURAKI DISTRICT COUNCIL

Mayor, John Tregidga  and Chief Executive Officer, Langley Cavers are seeking past members of staff and elected members to extend an invitation to celebrate 20 years of community leadership of the Hauraki District Council

The Hauraki District Council took over from the former authorities on 1 November 1989. While at the time I am sure that there were some reservations on how the new authority would operate, it is apparent from the significant advances that have been made in community infrastructure and facilities since this time and the stable political climate that has and still exists that the Council has been very effective and successful. This is no small part because of the calibre of the elected members and staff that have been involved over the years.

We would like you to join with us on Saturday 31 October 2009 at the Paeroa Racecourse to celebrate the last 20 years (see format below). Come along and catch up with past and present elected members and staff and hear and share a few stories. While we have made an effort to get in touch with as many of the original people employed at amalgamation as we can, we would welcome any past staff or elected members, and would appreciate it if you could also spread the word.
