The information centre building, no longer used since the service relocated to the L&P Cafe, was moved on Wednesday 21 October 2009, from its old location at the Railway Reserve.

It was transported to the Paeroa Domain and lifted by 100 tonne crane to sit on top of the athletics club building. The athletics building, erected when the old athletics club building burnt down, had been built with this purpose in mind so the fit was perfect.

Local firm Bishop and Moore are the contractors who won the tender to shift it and all went to plan.
