Halls are provided to encourage and facilitate the community’s wellbeing, by providing places for recreational, sporting, cultural and leisure needs.

COMMUNITY HALLS

Paeroa War Memorial Hall – Normanby Ave, Paeroa

Capacity: 350 persons

This hall is available for use year round. There is a Main Hall (with stage), Small Hall/Lounge, and Kitchen.

Approximately 100 people can be seated at tables provided, with more chairs available. The large kitchen adjoining the small hall/lounge includes a fridge, stove, large bench space and hot water zip. Crockery/utensils are not provided.

There is a stage at the rear of the main hall, and back stage dressing rooms. Stage lighting is available. There is a piano available for hire at additional charge.

Ngatea War Memorial Hall – Orchard Road, Ngatea

Capacity: 300 persons

This Hall is available for use year round. There is a Main Hall (with stage), Small Hall/Lounge, and Kitchen.

Approximately 160 people can be seated at tables provided, with more chairs available. The large kitchen adjoining the small hall/lounge includes a fridge, stove, large bench space and hot water zip. Crockery is available for hire, however utensils are not provided.

There is a stage at the rear of the main hall. Stage lighting is available. There is a piano and sound system with microphone available for hire at additional charge.

 Waihi Events Centre – Haszard St, Waihi

Capacity: 500 persons

This Hall is available for use year round. There is a Main Hall with a Sprung Sports Floor (sports markings on floor), Small Hall/Lounge (mezzanine), and Kitchen.

A small number of tables and chairs are provided in the mezzanine lounge. There is bleacher seating provided in the main hall. The large kitchen on the mezzanine floor includes a fridge, stove, large bench space and hot water zip. Crockery/utensils are not provided.

The Events Centre caters predominantly for indoor sporting codes. The main hall floor is marked for sports use, and there are indoor basketball hoops/backboards provided. Because of the specialised floor, there are restrictions on the type of footwear/use. For example, there are weight loading limits on the hall, and spiked heeled shoes cannot be worn.

Waihi Memorial Hall - Seddon Street, Waihi

Capacity: 300 persons

This hall is available for use year round. There is a Main Hall (with stage), Small Hall/Lounge, and Kitchen.

Approximately 220 people can be seated at tables provided, with more chairs available. The large kitchen adjoining the small hall/lounge includes a fridge, stove, large bench space and hot water zip. Crockery and cutlery is available for hire.

There is a stage at the rear of the main hall, and dressing rooms behind this. Stage lighting is available.

Booking a Hall

Casual Hall Bookings need to be paid for prior to the event, and a refundable bond is also payable. Regular Bookings may, at Council’s discretion, be invoiced.

Your booking time must allow time for set up before the event, and clean up afterwards. All rubbish must be removed from the site, and Users must clean up afterwards.

Please note all functions providing or selling alcohol at any of the halls need to check if they require a special Liquor Licence. Users must also comply with Noise Levels permitted under the District Plan. The Customer Services Team can help you with your initial enquiries.
