Hauraki District Council operates two public swimming pools:

• Ngatea Swimming Pool in Ngatea
• Tony Richards Toyota Paeroa Swimming Pool in Paeroa

They are open daily during the summer.  Refer to the individual pool to view times, activities, days closed and charges.

There is no council operated swimming pool in Waihi; however the Waihi College Swimming Pool is available for public use.

There are two pools in Ngatea; the main pool is 33 yards long with 6 lanes as well as a small learner’s pool. Heated to 27^o

The following facilities are also available:

• Toilets
• Changing facilities
• BBQ tables
• Shade shelters

Admission charges

During the month of January there is a daily special admission of $1 per swimmer (aged 5 years and over).

Children under 5 FREE - when Actively supervised by a responsible person over the age of 16 years.

Supervising person (non swimming) may enter the grounds free of charge.

NO CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 8 YEARS SHALL ENTER THE POOL UNLESS IN THE CHARGE OF A PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS.  SUPERVISING PERSONS MAY ENTER THE GROUNDS FREE OF CHARGE.

Lifeguards   X


During advertised times all Hauraki District Council pools are supervised by Lifeguards trained in First Aid and the New Zealand Lifeguard Award.
