Hauraki District Council presents:

Hauraki District Council would like to introduce to you the new ‘SwimSafe’
program to take place at both the Paeroa and Ngatea Public Swimming Pools in
2008.
During the month of January swimming lessons will take place two days a
week, for three weeks between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00. The lessons will be
conducted by the lifeguards of the season who, beginning this year will be put
through training from Swimming New Zealand to acquire the ‘Assistant Swim
Teacher Award’.
Because this is the first year the lifeguards will undertake this training they
are required to do 20 hours of service before their qualification is complete.
This is where our SwimSafe program comes in. The swimming lessons we are
offering are the practical experience our lifeguards need to become qualified
instructors.
Those of you who had children involved in 2006 will know that it was a huge
success and the children improved immensely.
| Lessons begin the week of 7th January Paeroa lessons will be held on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. Ngatea lessons will be held on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. Lessons will be 30mins in duration and groups will be determined on registration day depending on the skill level of the child. |
Registration Paeroa Thursday 3rd January 9:00am.
Registration Ngatea Friday 4th January 9:00am.
Cost: $30 per child
