Proposed Temporary Road Closure

Pursuant to the Section 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 2002, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of a Motorsport Hillclimb event organised by Thames Valley Car Club it is intended to close the following road to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder. During the proposed period of closure provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic, which would otherwise use the road, to use alternative routes.

Period of closure: Sunday 22 January 2017, 9:00am to 5.00pm.
Road to be closed: 633-771 Rotokohu Road, PAEROA.

Alternative provision for ordinary vehicular traffic will be made with signs, cones and barriers to redirect traffic on detour.

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the proposed period of closure.

Temporary Road Closure

Pursuant to the Section 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 2002, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of the Waihi Christmas Parade the following roads will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated below. During the period of closure provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic, which would otherwise use the road, to use alternative routes.

Date of closure: Saturday 10 December 2016.
Time of closure: Midday to 2:00pm.
Road to be closed: Seddon St from Moresby Ave/Rosemont Rd corner up to Mueller St roundabout, WAIHI.

Alternative provision for ordinary vehicular traffic will be made with signs, cones and barriers to redirect traffic on detour. 

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure.

Date of closure: Thursday, 15 December 2016 (in case of weather issues the event will be held on Friday, 16 December
Time of closure: 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Roads to be closed: River Rd from HDC Yard to Orchard West Rd; Orchard West Rd from River Rd to Darlington St, NGATEA.

Alternative provision for ordinary vehicular traffic will be made with signs, cones and barriers to redirect traffic on detour.

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the proposed period of closure.

Date of closure: Friday 9 December 2016
Time of closure: 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Roads to be closed: SH2 (Normanby Rd and Belmont Rd) from Victoria St to Station Rd; Princes St, Queen St, Wharf St and Corbett St. Willoughby St from Arney St to Corbett St, PAEROA.

Alternative provision for ordinary vehicular traffic will be made with signs, cones and barriers to redirect traffic on detour.

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure.

Liquor Ban

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Hauraki District Council Consolidated Bylaw that the consumption of alcoholic liquor, the bringing of liquor or of empty liquor containers and the possession of liquor or empty liquor containers in the public places identified below is hereby prohibited during the periods identified below.

Liquor Bans - Whiritoa

Prohibition applies to all public places including roads, beaches and reserves for the Christmas and New Year Public Holiday period being from 4.00pm Friday, 23 December 2016 to 4.00am Friday, 6 January 2017 inclusive.

Liquor Bans – Paeroa, Ngatea And Waihi

That the consumption and bringing into and possession of liquor in all public places including, roads and reserves are prohibited at all times within areas of the townships listed below:

Waihi

  • Within the 50 kilometre speed limit areas of Waihi township, and
  • Within the 70 kilometre speed limit of Seddon Avenue, East from the Margaret Street/Toomey Street intersection to the 50 kph speed limit sign East of the Martin Road/Baber Street intersection.

Paeroa and Ngatea

  • Within the 50 kilometre speed limit areas of the Paeroa and Ngatea townships.
Penalties

Any person who commits an offence against the prohibition may be convicted and fined up to $20,000.

Powers Of Police

The Hauraki District Council Consolidated Bylaw authorises any member of the New Zealand Police to act under sections 169 and 170 of the Local Government Act 2002, including the exercise of the power under section 170(2) to immediately and without further notice search a container or vehicle.
