Temporary Road Closure

Pursuant to the Section 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 2002, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of a Motorsport Hillclimb event, the following road will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated below. During the period of closure provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic, which would otherwise use the road, to use alternative routes.

Date of closure: Sunday 12 November 2017.
Time of closure: 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Road to close: South Road, Mangatarata.

Alternative provision for ordinary vehicular traffic will be made with signs, cones and barriers to redirect traffic on detour.

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure.

Council Land Drain Maintenance

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Hauraki District Council Consolidated Bylaw Part 7 Clause 12.1, that for the purposes of undertaking its annual drain maintenance programme, the Council staff and contractors will be entering onto private property to apply approved chemical for weed control in the Council land drains, and to undertake excavator cleaning of Council land drains.

Council land drains are located in the Western Plains, Eastern Plains, Komata North, Opukeko, Tirohia Rotokohu and Taramaire Drainage Districts.

The Council also maintains open drains that are part of the urban stormwater networks in Ngatea, Kerepehi, Turua, Paeroa, Waihi, Whiritoa and Kaiaua.

Drain maintenance spraying of aquatic weeds with approved chemical by vehicle and helicopter application will be undertaken between November 2017 and May 2018.

Excavator cleaning of selected drains will be undertaken from March to June 2018.

Individual property owners will be advised of this programme to enable pasture adjacent to the target drains to be grazed off prior to the works.

Adoption of Alcohol Control in Public Places Bylaw 2017

The Hauraki District Council recently reviewed and publically consulted on its Alcohol Control in Public Places Bylaw contained in Part 3: Public Safety of the Consolidated Bylaw. The reviewed Bylaw was adopted at the Council meeting on 25 October 2017 and will come into operation on Friday, 10 November 2017.
