7. NETWORK SERVICES

The District Engineer and Roading Manager have reported on an application to establish a road side business. The requested site is the southern side of SH2 between Wrigley Street and Margaret Street, Waihi.

RECOMMENDATION

THAT the report be received, and

THAT the Sure Glass Windscreen Repair’s application to operate on the southern side road verge of SH2 be declined as it creates potential traffic safety issues and

THAT applications from intending road side vendors to operate from similar locations within the 70kph speed restriction area of the state highway be declined due to the adverse effect on safety and efficiency of road traffic movement.
