Love Hauraki

Support Local
Hauraki Inc. We’re creating a place where talent wants to live!

The Hauraki District Council's vision is for a District that encourages vibrant communities, provides a great lifestyle and fosters a positive climate for balanced, sustainable development.

The Hauraki District Council is keen to work with businesses that have exporting potential and can see the benefits of establishing themselves in our district.

Location

Hauraki is located on State Highway 2 but did you know that we are approximately one hour’s drive from the Port of Tauranga and the Port of Auckland? We are also within two hour’s drive of 65 per cent of New Zealand’s population.

Proactive, “Business Friendly” Council

Council has taken the initiative to grow the District. We see the importance of a thriving business community and as such we want to partner with businesses to develop and reach their potential. We have two economic development officers dedicated to assist. We are determined to make it easier for businesses to set up and operate in Hauraki.

Sister City

Hauraki District Council currently enjoys an excellent sister city relationship with the Jiading District in Shanghai. We see this as an excellent portal into one of the world’s key markets. View the Jiading District website

Lifestyle

Hauraki has a lot to offer families. With a lower cost of living and excellent climate, families can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including:

  • Fishing,
  • Hunting,
  • Tramping,
  • Cycling on the new Hauraki Rail Trail.
