How do I enter?
You are recommended to create a 'Log In' first via the link at the top of this web page.
Then, when entries are open, you should log in and complete our online Entry or Nomination form.
Logging in first will mean that you have the ability to save your form whilst in progress until you have completed all relevant sections and are ready to submit.
If requested, please attach supporting documents and your logo with any high-resolution images required.
Will it cost me to enter?
No, there is no cost to register or submit an entry to the Richardsons Hauraki Coromandel Business Awards.
How are the categories judged?
All entries will be submitted to an independent panel of three judges. Based on entrants' applications, judges will select finalists in each category. Judges will arrange a visit to the premises of finalists.
What are the judges looking for?
The judges are looking for evidence of the contribution to your business sector and the wider business community, effective financial management, job creation, service and infrastructure development, planning and continual improvement.
Will the judging process involve someone auditing our business?
No, we do not audit your business.
Do the awards criteria take into account an organisation’s financial performance?
The success of your business will not be measured on the financial profitability alone.
Will my application be kept on record?
All documents submitted as part of your entry will be destroyed two months after the announcement of the award winners. You will be able to download a copy of your entry when it has been submitted.
Can a business enter more than one category if it is appropriate?
Businesses can only enter one 'Excellence in Sector' category but can enter more than one of the 'Category Excellence Awards'. However, in the best interests of your business, your category may be changed by the judges. In this instance, full consultation will be made with the entrant business.
How do I save part way through the application and how do I return to it later?

Can I enter People’s Choice Award?
Candidates must be nominated by members of the public only, therefore businesses are unable to enter this category themselves.
If I win the People’s Choice Award, am I eligible for the Supreme Award?
No, you are not eligible for the Supreme Award if your business win the People's Choice Award.
How do I enter Service to Business?
You cannot enter this category directly as candidates must be nominated by members of the public. Judges are looking for nominations of individuals who have contributed substantially to business in their community. This award aims to cast a light on the dedication shown and achievements made by this individual.
If I win the Service to Business Award am I eligible for the Supreme Award?
No, you are not eligible for the Supreme Award if your business win the Service to Business Award.
As a finalist, what will be required from our business?
Nothing further will be required other than to make a time for the judges to visit.
What are the judges looking for during their visit?
A meet and greet with management and a walk around your premises. A few further questions may be asked for clarification purposes.
What do finalists and winners receive?
Finalists will receive a complimentary ticket to the gala evening. All category finalists will receive a certificate and the category winners will receive a trophy. The winner of the Supreme Award will receive a trophy and an additional prize to be advised.
What if I am unable to attend the Gala?
Finalists who are unable to attend are asked to nominate someone to attend on their behalf.
How long will the Gala evening be?
The Gala evening starts at 6.30pm and will finish at 11pm. The awards’ ceremony starts at 7pm.
How do I buy Gala Tickets?
The Gala Night will be held on 23 October at the Thames Memorial and Civic Centre.
Tickets to the Gala Night are now available for purchase.
