What you need to do
Before the shutdown, store enough water for drinking, cooking, personal hygiene and other essential household needs.
What happens if the dates change?
If the date or time needs to change due to unforeseen circumstances, we'll deliver another notice with the updated details.
When the water comes back on
When your water supply returns, run an outside tap (or an inside tap if you don't have an outside tap) for about 30 seconds to help flush the pipes.
When you first turn your tap on, you may notice some hissing or cloudy/discoloured water. This is normal and is caused by air entering the pipes while work is being completed. The water should clear after running the tap for a short time.
Avoid using washing machines, dishwashers and other water-using appliances during the shutdown. Once the water supply returns, wait until the water runs clear before using them again.
