Hauraki District Plan Notification of Decisions on Plan Change
Hauraki District Council gives notice that it has made its decisions on submissions and further submissions on the following Plan Change:
Proposed Plan Change 2: Waihi; Residential and Industrial Re-zoning
Pursuant to Clause 10(4)(b) of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, Hauraki District Council gives notice that on 11 March 2026 it made Decisions on the submissions and further submissions to Proposed Plan Change 2: Waihi; Residential and Industrial Re-zoning.
Amendments to District Plan:
- Ford Road: re-zone approximately 11.8ha of land from Rural Zone to Industrial Zone, with a Structure Plan to guide development.
- Thorn Road: re-zone approximately 6,000m2 of land from Rural Zone to Residential Zone.
- Bradford Street: re-zone approximately 10.3ha of land from Low Density Residential Zone to Residential Zone, with a Structure Plan to guide development.
- Bradford Street Extension: remains Low Density Residential Zone but with amended provisions to enable increased density of development.
- Additions to Section 8 (Appendices – Structure Plans) and amendments to Section 5.8 (Low Density Residential Zone – Zone Development Standards) and 9.4 (Subdivision Rules - Low Density Zone) of the Operative Hauraki District Plan – Hauraki Section.
- Amendments to give effect to Council Decisions including to Planning Maps 31, K3, K5 and the Map Legend.
